
THE GOVERNMENT on July 13 broke ground for the construction of 1,329 houses worth P490 million for residents affected by a series of earthquakes that hit Makilala, Cotabato province in 2019.
Each house will cost P368,770, National Housing Authority General Manager Joeben A. Tai said at the launch.
The houses, which will be built on 35.7 hectares of land owned by the local government of Makilala, are expected to be completed in less than two years.
The project will benefit about 2,000 families from the villages of Malasila, Sto. Niňo, Malabuan, Indangan, Buena Vida, Buhay, Cabilao, Bato and Luayon. — Maya M. Padillo
