Jstranzhur tackles the food industry
KULAY DIWA presents Jstranzhur’s exhibit Got an Appetite for Art? featuring works from his MSG series. MSG does not intend to eternalize the bad rep which the food additive has suffered for a long time, rather it is a dissection of the food industry. MSG intends not only to peel away the sugar-coating of a spoiled system but also to examine our possible role as enablers. Jstranzhur is a 25-year-old self-taught artist from Bulacan. His limitations to create something life-like have pushed him to see faces beyond its conventional patterns. MSG is his second solo exhibit after being one of the recipients of the 2019 VAMD Exhibition Venue Grants from the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The exhibit is on view until July 7 at the White gallery, Kulay Diwa, 25 Lopez Ave., Lopez Village, Sucat, Parañaque City.
