THERE WILL be no classes and work in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga on Nov. 13-15 as the country hosts the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits. “Various activities directly connected with the 31st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, to be attended by ASEAN Leaders and ASEAN Dialogue Partners, will be held in the NCR and Clark Field, Pampanga,” reads Malacañang Proclamation 332 dated Oct. 23. Bulacan is located between NCR and Pampanga. Aside from the heads of states of the 10 ASEAN members, the event will also be attended by high-level officials and delegations from China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, New Zealand, and the US. Last Sept. 30, Malacañang confirmed the attendance of US President Donald J. Trump in the meeting. — Rosemarie A. Zamora
