Classes resume in Tagum City, except in 9 barangays still affected by flooding
CLASSES FOR all levels, both public and private schools, in nine villages in Tagum City remained suspended as of Wednesday due to floods following rains over the weekend. Earlier this week, classes were suspended in the entire city after 15 out of 23 barangays were swamped. The nine most affected barangays are: Bingcungan, Busaon, Canocotan, Cuambogan, Liboganon, Madaum, Mankilam, Pagsabangan, and San Miguel. Other parts of Davao del Norte province and the neighboring Compostela Valley province and Davao City also experienced flooding earlier this week as the tail end of a cold front brought continuous rains in the Davao region. On Wednesday the trough of a low pressure area was affecting the southern section of Mindanao, including Davao Occidental, according to weather bureau PAGASA.
