2 PAF pilots die in Benguet mountain plane crash

TUBA, Benguet — Two Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel died as their trainer aircraft (SF 620) crashed in a forested area in Sitio Cabuyao, Barangay Poblacion, Tuba town, on Wednesday morning.
Col. Ma. Christina Basco, PAF spokesperson said, the victims have died from injuries they suffered from the impact of the crash.
Authorities earlier identified one of the victims as Ruth Angelique R. Pasos, a first lieutenant of the Philippine Air Force, while the other occupant, a uniformed male, has yet to be identified.
Quoting Tuba police, Lt. Col. Roy Calulot, Cordillera police spokesman said the crash involving a gray, white and orange Philippine Air Force aircraft bearing tail number 10-39 occurred at around 10:20 a.m. but was reported to authorities at about 11:40 a.m.
Responding Tuba town policemen, Bureau of Fire Protection, Tuba Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, nearest Baguio City station personnel and local residents reportedly found the two occupants unconscious at the crash site. — Artemio A. Dumlao
