PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. appointed Franz Josef George E. Alvarez as acting president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC), the Palace said on Wednesday.
Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto signed his appointment letter last May 13, 2026, according to a document sent to Palace reporters on Wednesday and confirmed by Palace Press Officer Clarissa A. Castro.
Mr. Alvarez previously led PNOC subsidiary, PNOC Exploration Corp., as president and CEO from 2023 to 2024.
He also represented the first district of Palawan in Congress from July 2013 to June 2023.
The President also appointed Mr. Alvarez as acting member of board of directors. He replaces Ma. Cristina Sheila Canag Cabaraban. — Chloe Mari A. Hufana
