
SENATOR Pilar Juliana “Pia” S. Cayetano has been elected as the new chairperson of the Senate Committee on Accountability of Public Officers and Investigations.
Senator Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson, who previously held the committee, has been delegated as the vice-chairperson for the panel also known as the Blue Ribbon Committee.
The committee led the chamber’s investigation into alleged corruption linked to the government’s anomalous flood control project.
Four more committee chairmanships were filled on Wednesday, with Senator Maria Imelda “Imee” R. Marcos taking over the Foreign Relations panel. Senator Rafael T. Tulfo will join her as vice-chair.
Meanwhile, Senator Camille A. Villar retained chairmanships of the committees on Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, and Government Corporations and Public Enterprises.
Senator Robinhood C. Padilla was also elected as the chairman of the Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes, with Senator Francis Pancratius “Kiko” N. Pangilinan as the vice-chair.
Senator Rodante D. Marcoleta also secured the chairmanship of the Judicial and Bar Council, with Mr. Pangilinan as the vice-chair. — Kaela Patricia B. Gabriel
