QUEZON CITY Mayor Herbert M. Bautista has approved an ordinance increasing the longevity pay of regular career civil service employees of the local government by P100 from the current P300 for every five years of continuous service. Ordinance 2835-2019, introduced by Councilor Victor V. Ferrer, amends Ordinance 2728-2018. Employees who have rendered at least 10 years of service but registered a year’s worth of leaves are still eligible for the new benefit as long as their leave were on account of medical and/or grave personal circumstances. “Such amount as may be necessary for the implementation of this Ordinance is hereby appropriated from the General Fund or Special Fund,” the ordinance states. — Vince Angelo C.
