THE NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will start issuing the multipurpose clearance, which covers all types of requests, today, Oct. 2. The document will have a fixed fee of P115.00. The NBI used to issue specific-purpose clearances and charge different rates for domestic employment, travel abroad, gun licensing, among others. “This is in line with the present administration’s effort to simplify government services and eliminate different or excessive fees,” the NBI said in a publication yesterday. The Justice secretary, who oversees the NBI, issued a directive in February on the shift to a single clearance document.
