ANGGY Sepdianto will compete in the men’s open doubles crown of the 12th Prima Pasta Badminton Championships set Feb. 22 until March 3 together with his partner Hanz Bernardo at the Powersmash badminton courts in Chino Roces, Makati City.
Sepdianto, a former member of Indonesian junior team who is based here in Manila since 2010, has been known for his competitive nature winning different local and international badminton tournaments in the past.
“I’m excited to compete and play against the best players in the Prima tourney. I love competing against the best,” said Sepdianto, who won the men’s doubles title of Apacs International Tournament along with Hanz Bernardo last Dec. 18 at the Zone badminton courts in Makati City.
He is expected to join also this year’s FDG Cup and the Bingo Bonanza Philippine Open.
Known for his speed, great skills and tricks in both singles and doubles categories, Sepdianto, 29, is very familiar to the Southeast Asian badminton community especially to the Philippines, fellow Indonesian and Malaysian national teams as a pro badminton player.
Besides the Apacs tournament, Sepdianto also won last year’s TUD Philippine Badminton Open men’s doubles title alongside Jerickson Oba-ob last October. He was also a bronze medalist in the men’s doubles of 2016 Bingo Bonanza and the 2013 FDG Cup Open.
Sepdianto had been successful playing in the men’s singles competitions in the past, being a silver medalist in the JPGG Indonesia International Challenge U-17 class in 2006 and being a bronze medalist in 2007 Singapore Open’s U-19 men’s singles event.
