THE Hepatology Society of the Philippines (HSP), the only recognized professional liver society in the country, will be holding The B Aware Benefit Gala on Jan. 19 at The Atrium and Courtyard of Enderun Colleges. A fundraising and awareness initiative, the event will kick-off the B Aware Campaign of the HSP to raise awareness for Hepatitis B.

“Hepatitis B remains a public health problem in the Philippines affecting millions of Filipinos. Many are unaware of the infection until they become ill from it. Additionally, people living with Hepatitis B suffer from discrimination. Join us as we launch the B Aware Campaign to raise public awareness about Hepatitis B,” said Dr. Ian Cua, HSP president.

The B Aware Campaign aims to educate the general public by highlighting the risk factors, health consequences, treatment, and prevention of Hepatitis B through various efforts including online, print, broadcast media campaigns, out of home advertising, and events.

At the gala dinner will feature a four-course meal, cocktails, and the Art & Advocacy silent art auction that will feature the work of emerging and established local artists. Proceeds will go to the B-Aware campaign and other advocacy projects of the HSP. A multimedia campaign on Hepatitis B, which will be rolled out this year, will also be launched during the event.
