HA.MÜ explores self-discovery in latest collection

INDEPENDENT artisanal local brand HA.MÜ, composed of young designers Abraham Guardian and Mamuro Oki, explore the good and bad days in one’s pursuit of self-discovery in their new collection, Flowers of Youth. For the collection, the duo revisited their individual childhoods and experiences growing up through the different stages of life. The designers are known for their signature approach: upcycled deconstructed garments, textured patchworks and threadworks, and a distinct character in a clash of colors, layers, textures, and prints. For the collection, they present everything from puffed sleeved, uniform, and side drape shirts, deconstructed boy scout tops, ampalaya design blouses, button-downs and raglan tees, blob pants, handkerchief apron dresses, curved jeans and printed trousers. They offer a range of accessories including floppy sun hats, sash bags, baseball caps, and necklaces. FitFlop offers Yinka Ilori Capsule Collection

YINKA Ilori began his career up-cycling furniture to give them a new lease of life, using vibrant colors and fabrics inspired by his British-Nigerian heritage. He has since brought his trademark graphic style to communities around the globe through a series of playful public commissions. His inimitable joyful aesthetic now graces a statement FitFlop sandal collection. He chose five of FitFlop’s most popular ergonomic sandal silhouettes (plus a slipper and the iconic Shuv clog) and gave each a makeover. He’s reinterpreted the iQushion flip-flop and pool slide (men’s versions too), the Surfa, the Shuv — in a limited edition of 250 numbered pairs — and a classic canvas slipper. This collection offers all-day comfort as it is designed and made of high-rebound air-foam for non-stop cushioning, heel and ball-of-foot impact pillows, and a contoured arch-curve for natural support when walking. FitFlop also features the biomechanically engineered version of a classic iQuishion flip-flops.

New World uses La Bottega bathroom amenities

AS PART of its global sustainability program along with all Rosewood Hotels and Resorts around the world, New World Makati Hotel has partnered with La Bottega, an Italian luxury lifestyle brand, to supply guest bathroom amenities under one of its product lines – Malin+Goetz. The amenity line will be available this month in the 580-room hotel’s guest bathrooms, consisting of its sustainably produced shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash, body wash, and lotion. Along with other La Bottega brands, Malin+Goetz’s packaging uses recycled materials such as post-consumer plastic and are completely recyclable materials, such as polyethylene. In addition, they use alternative materials for some of their solutions, such as ceramic, aluminum, and glass in their commitment to reduce the amount of plastic waste. Formulations are free of silicones, parabens, MIT (Methylisothiazolinone) and are all cruelty-free. Certain products manufactured by the brand are gluten and mineral oil-free, as well as have vegan and natural formulations that are blended with retail proprietary essential oils. The hotel has already taken steps to implement sustainable standards in the property. At the height of the pandemic last year, it launched its waste management program which segregates hotel waste into renewable and recyclable streams, with a goal of achieving “zero waste” or at least 90% waste management efficiency by 2025. Compostable food packaging made of sugarcane bagasse is used for takeaway and delivery orders at its restaurants, while reusing organic food waste as plant fertilizer through regular composting for the poolside garden. In addition, all of the used coffee grounds are repurposed and repackaged for guests to bring home and use as body scrub, fertilizer, or insect repellent. More programs are in the pipeline to further reduce single-use plastics as well as other sustainable initiatives.
