Diesel-powered Honda CR-Vs arrive in PHL
THE first batch of the new-generation Honda CR-V that’s powered by a diesel engine has arrived in the country, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) said in a statement. The company added it had started to deliver the vehicle to customers who have placed orders upon the diesel variant’s local introduction in August.
Besides a diesel engine — a first for the nameplate — the latest CR-V also sees the return of a three-row seating arrangement, only this time the vehicle accommodates seven passengers rather than 10.
HCPI prices the CR-V, available in six colors, between P1.539 million and P2.049 million.
Mitsubishi to tout clean diesel tech in Cebu
AS Mitsubishi Motors mark its centennial, the brand’s Philippine operation announced it is bringing its 100th year expo to Cebu from Sept. 28-Oct. 1.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) said the event will highlight the advantages of Mitsubishi’s MIVEC Clean Diesel technology through test-drive sessions using the Mitsubishi Montero Sport. MMPC said the clean diesel engine and the vehicle can be compared by shoppers against its major competitors. The 2017 Mitsubishi Strada is also available for test drives.
MMPC said people who test-drive the vehicles will get a discount coupon worth P5,000, which can be used in the purchase of any Mitsubishi model.
Other activities lined up at the expo are a vehicle checkup program that is free of charge, display of Mitsubishi’s latest vehicles, and games and entertainment.
MMPC, together with its franchised dealer in Cebu, Fast Autoworld Philippines Corp., is holding the expo at SM City Cebu during mall hours. Admission is free.

THEe distributor of Volvo in the Philippines recently displayed the new-generation Volvo XC60 premium SUV at an event the company held with the Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. Volvo said the new XC60, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will be launched in the Philippines later this year. The company noted customers can now place reservations on the car.

The XC60 that will be sold in the Philippines will be powered by a 190hp, 400Nm, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that comes bolted to an eight-speed Geartronic transmission.
