THE DAVAO City government plans to produce identification cards (ID) per family to ease the distribution of relief goods and other assistance during calamities, according to the City Social Services and Development Office. The cost of producing the cards will be taken from the P426.5 million Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund Investment Plan. The city’s 1.8 million population comprise about 300,000 households. The IDs are intended to address the usual bottleneck in distributing assistance, which is the identification of bonafide beneficiaries. — Carmelito Q. Francisco
