The world wide web is a double-edged sword. While it conveniently connects the world to make it smaller, it can create big problems for poor families, especially the children who are vulnerable to online exploitation. According to World Vision Philippines — a Christian development, advocacy, and relief organization — children and babies as young as three months old have been victims of livestream sexual abuse. In reaction to this alarming situation, the organization is launching a campaign in which it hopes to protect three million Filipino children against online sexual abuse by 2020.

I knew I needed to learn from seasoned female photographers when I decided to focus on beauty and fashion-inspired portraiture. I turned to fashion and beauty photographers Sara Black and Pilar Trigo Bonnin who top the list of photographers who have informed the way I look at female beauty as a photographer. I attended their photography workshops the first year I got a bit too serious about photography as a weekend hobby.
IT’S A NOVEL IDEA, taking a photo of one’s grocery receipt and uploading it to an app which will then give the user rebates ranging from a few centavos to P30. And it’s exactly this novel idea that Snapcart, a market analysis firm, quite a success in its current markets, Indonesia and the Philippines, boasting around half a million downloads.
