DoLE offers marketing platform for informal-sector businesses
THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment (DoLE) said it has developed a new marketing platform for entrepreneurs from the informal sector seeking to promote their goods.
On Thursday, DoLE said it will offer marketing assistance to workers from the informal sector through its free online market platform, DoLE Livelihood Beneficiaries Products Showcase (DLBPS). The platform is intended to help beneficiaries under the DoLE Integrated Livelihood Program.
The online platform will be managed by DoLE’s Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns.
Labor Undersecretary Benjo Santos M. Benavidez said in a statement that the DLBPS is the labor department’s channel for pushing the informal sector into the formal economy by providing a sustainable livelihood.
“This is one of the tools we have developed to help you sell your products,” he said.
Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III said in a statement, “We recognize the unique contribution of workers in the informal sector… We want to improve their status of living, strengthen their enterprises and livelihood, as well as protect their rights as workers.”
