Ocean-going Swarovski
THE MAGIC of the ocean is the inspiration for Swarovski’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert has taken her cues from the myriad forms inhabiting the aquatic world and the underwater gardens that are home to its flora and fauna to create new designs. Abstract interpretations of sea creatures take shape through domed coins suggesting sea urchins, and designs ripple like waves. Figurative motifs include starfish and seahorses, while the geometric beauty of seashells is captured in a range of different styles. Meanwhile, familiar lines get new pieces for the season: Hyperbola’s modern yet intricate wave-inspired designs featuring rhodium-plated spirals and swirls; Idyllia finds inspiration in nature’s most intricate adornments, from detailed shells to crystallized flowers; Millenia features crystals in pink; and the famed Swan collection, seen in its logo, uses pavé and pearls to show off the swan in flight. The Matrix shows off classic items like tennis bracelets in youthful colors like yellow, while Gema pays homage to Japan’s landscape. Dextera’s sculptural styles are expressed in gleaming golds as an ode to Swarovski’s Austrian heritage, drawing on the decorative symbolist works by artist Gustav Klimt. In the Philippines, Swarovski is available in Rustan’s Alabang, Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shangri-La, and Rustan’s Ayala Cebu. Swarovski is also available through boutiques at Alabang Town Center, Glorietta, Newport Mall, TriNoma Mall, Power Plant Mall, and SM Mall of Asia.
Ikea goes on sale this month
IKEA is lowering prices by up to 50% on 430 products ranging from sofas, shelves, tables, drawers, storage boxes, and other home furnishing accessories this March. The price reduction covers a range of home solutions, including the Vadsö Spring Mattress, now priced at P5,990 down from P6,990. For those looking to refresh their living room, the Söderhamn section sofa is now P27,990 from its former price of P31,990. Other reductions include the Justina chair pad for P250, down from P400, and the Mopsig cutlery set for P150, down from P250. For a more productive work setup, the Linnmon/Adils table is now priced at P1,490, down from P1,990, and the Huvudspelare gaming chair is available for P2,990, down from P4,490. Seiko celebrates sunsets with watches
SEIKO has joined hands with the cocktail lounge Star Bar to present the latest additions to the Seiko Presage Star Bar series. The two limited edition watches — Star Bar Purple Sunset and Star Bar Pinky Twilight — embody the essence of Tokyo’s sunsets in both design and craftsmanship. Each timepiece bears the unique touch of Hisashi Kishi, the owner of Star Bar and the recipient of the “Contemporary Master Craftsman” award. Kishi’s original cocktails, crafted to capture the beauty of Tokyo’s sunsets, served as the muse for the design of each timepiece, with dials adorned with a gradation of colors and a subtle wavy pattern, reminiscent of clouds across the evening sky. Star Bar Purple Sunset is a men’s watch featuring a dial inspired by the Purple Sunset cocktail. The dial’s gradation from navy to purple mirrors the sky at sunset. It is powered by an automatic movement with manual winding (Caliber Number 4R35), and a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Encased in stainless steel, it features a box-shaped Hardlex crystal. The calfskin band complements the timepiece, and it is water-resistant up to five bars. Star Bar Pinky Twilight is a women’s watch inspired by the cocktail of the same name. The delicate gradation from light pink to yellow on the dial elegantly mirrors the pale, glowing sky at sunset. This timepiece is equipped with an automatic movement with manual winding (Caliber Number 2R05), and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. Encased in stainless steel, it also features a box-shaped Hardlex crystal. The calfskin band has a three-fold clasp with push button release Water resistant up to five bars, this limited-edition watch is engraved with its serial number on the case back.
