Ben&Ben, Moira collaborate on a new song

BEN&BEN and Moira reunited for their second collaborative single, “Pasalubong,” a romantic confessional that drips with unapologetic sentimentality. The folk-pop tune  was written and produced by the band and Moira, with an arrangement from Ben&Ben’s percussionist Andrew De Pano.  Pasalubong” is the follow up to the ballad “Paalam,” which has more than 40 million streams on all combined music platforms. “Pasalubong” is the third single off Ben&Ben’s upcoming sophomore full-length album, to be released next month. The song is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Philippines.

Juan Karlos returns folk-rock tune

AFTER a hiatus from social media, singer-songwriter Juan Karlos returns with a new single, “Boston,” which talks about revisiting a memory with a former flame and asks “what could have been.” The song comes with a music video that features the alternative-pop artist singing and playing his guitar on a moving pickup truck, with EDSA as his backdrop. Celebrities sing on Vivo

ON AUG. 6, music will bring Lin-Manuel Miranda, Zoe Saldaña, and Gloria Estefan together in the animated film, Vivo. From Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, Vivo follows a musically gifted kinkajou (a rainforest “honey bear”) who embarks on an adventure to deliver a song to his cherished owner’s long-lost love, with the help of Gabi, an energetic tween who bounces to the beat of her own offbeat drum. The film, featuring original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, features the voices of Lin-Manuel Miranda (Vivo), Zoe Saldaña, Juan de Marcos, Brian Tyree Henry, Michael Rooker, Nicole Byer, Ynairaly Simo, and Gloria Estefan. Vivo will screen on www.netflix.com.

iQiyi premieres The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim

IQIYI’S has premiered its new K-drama series, The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim. Directed by Park Ho-jin, the show follows outgoing high-school student Ga Doo-shim (played by Kim Sae-ron) who has always longed for an ordinary life. After she meets straight-A student Na Woo-soo (played by Nam Da-reum) who can see spirits, they are dragged into mysterious and adventurous incidents. New episodes of the series will drop at 7 p.m. every Friday on the iQiyi International app and on iQ.com.

New Lego Ninjago sets, new TV shows

SEVEN new Lego Ninjago sets were launched in June, joining the other 13 sets launched early this year. Lego is also launching a new season of television content. Many children have grown up with Lego Ninjago and the Lego Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu television series, where Master Wu and the ninja Kai, Cole, Zane, Jay, Lloyd and Nya have taught them valuable lessons about life, while using their ninja skills to fight the forces of evil. Among the new Ninjago toys are the underwater sets, a ship playset featuring jet ski and dragon toys, an island with a prison, as well as four minifigures. Meanwhile, in part 1 of Season 3 of the Lego Ninjago TV series, The Island, viewers will see the ninja embark on a rescue mission to an uncharted island to save Lloyd’s mother and Master Wu over four episodes, followed by part 2, titled Seabound, comprising 16 episodes. The season premiered on Netflix on July 1. Each 11-minute episode will bring viewers into the adventure of Nya, who undertakes a search for answers when the ninja’s powers are disrupted by a mysterious recurring energy signal. Season 3 of the Lego Ninjago TV series started airing on Cartoon Network (Channel 43 on Sky Cable or Channels 74 (SD) and 220 (HD) on Cignal) on July 17 at 3:45 p.m. Lego Ninjago is now available across Lego Certified Stores, bankeebricks.ph, and Lego Official Store on Lazada, Shopee, Dotcom, and Zalora. A special website (Ninjago.com) is now available for children and fans of Ninjago.

WeTV announces 4 global ambassadors

WETV, Tencent Video’s international video streaming platform, announced that it has four new global brand ambassadors: actors Dilraba, Xiao Zhan, Yang Mi, and Yang Yang. Some of their popular shows include Eternal Love of Dream, The Untamed, and the upcoming series The Oath of Love; the upcoming She and Her Perfect Husband, and The King’s Avatar — all of which are carried by Tencent Video. Both Yang Yang and Dilraba are currently starring in series You Are My Glory, which just premiered on WeTV. In the second anniversary of its overseas launch, WeTV partnered with the four global ambassadors to leverage local and international resources to provide more premium content.
