THE Consunji family recently received the Esprit du Chevalier (“Spirit of the Knight”) Medal from Chevalier College in New South Wales, Australia. Chevalier College said the Consunjis “exhibited qualities of courage, compassion, energy, and effort.” Chevalier College Foundation Council chair Dick Simpson and Chevalier College principal Chris McDermott personally presented the medal to the family matriarch, Fredesvinda A. Consunji. DMCI Holdings Chairman and President Isidro A. Consunji and Semirara Mining and Power Corporation Victor A. Consunji both graduated from high school at Chevalier College. The school previously awarded Esprit du Chevalier medals to Australian Minister for Finance John Joseph Fahey AC, Papua New Guinea Olympic Commission president Sir John Dawanincura, OBE and Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Canberra Patrick Power.
