AS ISUZU PHILIPPINES Corp. (IPC) extends its streak to 25 years as the leading truck seller in the country, it cornered 43% of truck sales from January to April 2025, based on the combined report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA). It sold 1,592 trucks during the period — the most for any marque.

“Our continued leadership in the truck market reflects the brand’s unwavering commitment to delivering vehicles that truly work for our customers. Owning an Isuzu truck means investing in a product that is proven to last longer, perform more efficiently, and cost less to maintain over time. Backed by our nationwide after-sales support, Isuzu trucks give businesses a clear edge — helping them stay competitive, reduce downtime, and maximize profitability,” said IPC President Mikio Tsukui in a release.

The Isuzu N-Series led sales with 905 units, growing by 7.2% growth over the same period in 2024. IPC said it continues to be popular among logistics and delivery business nationwide for its versatility and ease of use — especially with the availability of the automatic manual transmission (AMT).

Following closely are the Isuzu medium-duty trucks, which recorded 545 units sold, marking a 2.4% year-on-year increase. These trucks are favored for long-haul routes and are designed to be fitted with different body applications with added driver safety.

IPC sold 59% more heavy-duty trucks (142 units) during the period versus last year, the majority coming from the newly introduced S&E Series. The demand surge, reported the company, is “largely driven by infrastructure projects and support from local government units.”

IPC insisted that, “beyond outstanding product quality, Isuzu’s market leadership is reinforced by its robust after-sales support known as the ‘Isuzu Advantage.’ This comprehensive support system includes the nationwide dealer network that ensures seamless access to products and services, as well as nationwide parts availability to minimize customer downtime.”

The Isuzu Mobile Medic service offers on-site truck maintenance and diagnostics, while dedicated expert field engineers provide technical support across the country. Additionally, comprehensive training programs for driver and mechanics help promote safe, efficient and reliable vehicle operation.

“With this strong start to 2025, we are optimistic about maintaining this momentum through the rest of the year. We are confident that our combination of product excellence and customer support will help us retain our position as the number-one truck brand in the Philippines,” added Mr. Tsukui.
