FERRARI at this year’s edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans launched a special model “designed to recognize the success of clients who race Ferraris.”
Unveiled was the Piloti Ferrari version of the 488 Pista, which Ferrari said was inspired by AF Corse’s No. 51 car used by Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado to win the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship drivers’ and manufacturers’ titles. The special livery — the Italian tricolore embellished by a laurel celebrating the WEC titles — is available exclusively for customers involved in the company’s motor sports programs.
The Piloti Ferrari 488 Pista unveiled at Le Mans carried the number 51 and had a matte black S-duct and carbon-fiber “dovetail” rear spoiler and vent surrounds. Four colors are offered for the car: Rosso Corsa, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona and Argento Nürburgring.
The car’s interior is finished in black Alcantara with touches of tricolore throughout. An exclusive identification plate and sill trim in carbon-fiber round out the customized pieces.
The Piloti Ferrari 488 Pista is powered by a turbocharged, 3.9-liter V8 which has been voted best for the third consecutive year at the 2018 International Engine of the Year Awards.
