FOLLOWING its preview at the Manila International Auto Show in April, the updated version of the Chevrolet Trax is now available in showrooms.
Chevrolet Philippines said the Trax, which it bills as an “urban SUV,” has been made more appealing “through refinement, exceptional fit and finish, and the use of premium materials throughout the vehicle’s interior.” The car has a redesigned front end and an upgraded infotainment system.
Two variants are available — the LS A/T, which sells for P1,123,888, and the LT A/T, priced at P1,358,888. Color choices are Summit White, Abalone White, Switchblade Silver, Black Meet Kettle, Boracay Blue, Son of a Gun Gray, Pull Me Over Red, and Velvet Red.
According to Chevrolet, the Trax’s new exterior features are 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome skid plate and fog lamp bezels, halogen head lights, and LED daytime running lamps and LED tail lights.
In the cabin, the Trax has been fitted with a new console with a contrasting trim detail; a new instrument panel with an analog speedometer and tachometer, as well as a digital information display; an upgraded seven-inch touch screen Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system that supports mobile phone integration, voice commands and steering wheel controls; a smart entry system with push-button engine start/stop; tire pressure monitoring; a reverse camera; 230-volt power socket; and heated power-operated side mirrors with integrated turn signal lamps.
Safety devices installed in the Trax include six air bags, cornering brake control, traction control, rear wheel boost, rollover mitigation, panic brake assist, straight line stability control, engine drag control, hill-start assist, and hill descent control. Powering the car is still Chevrolet’s 1.4-liter, turbo-charged, four-cylinder engine that makes 140hp at 4,900-6,000rpm and 200Nm at 1,850-4,900rpm. Matched to the engine is a six-speed automatic transmission.
Chevrolet said the new Trax is backed by a five-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty coverage, and is also automatically enrolled in the 24/7 Chevrolet Emergency Roadside Support, valid for three years. Customers also get access to a 24/7 hot line.
