THE FIRST Public-Private Partnership-Knowledge Corner (PPP-KC) was launched in Davao City on Tuesday, with others to follow in the different regions to strengthen local government units’ (LGU) capabilities in pursuing PPP ventures for their infrastructure and development programs. “The PPP-KC will serve as information hubs on PPPs where the LGUs, other implementing agencies, and stakeholders can get accurate and updated information and knowledge on PPPs,” said PPP Center Deputy Executive Director Eleazar E. Ricote in an interview during the launch. The   PPP-KC, located at the National Economic and Development Authority Davao office, will also serve as the region’s access point to the services of the PPP Center. Mr. Ricote said it is fitting that the country’s first PPP-KC was launched in Davao City, which was the first LGU in the country to have enacted a local PPP Ordinance that provides a clear legal framework for the review and approval of proposals. — Carmencita A.
