TROPICAL DEPRESSION Ramil, the 18th storm to hit the country this year, is expected to be out of the Philippine area by Thursday evening or early Friday morning, according to weather bureau PAGASA. Ramil dumped heavy rain on Wednesday as it passed through the west-central part of the country. Several domestic flights were canceled as tropical cyclone warning signal (TCWS) #1 was raised in several areas. However, as of 5 p.m. yesterday, only northern Palawan, including the Calamian Group of Islands and southern Occidental Mindoro, was under TCWS #1.
