Davao delegation in Japan for tourism, investment road show
A TEAM from the Davao City government and private sector representatives are in Japan this week to make a pitch for increased Japanese tourists and investments in the city. City Information Officer Jeffrey M. Tupas, who is part of the delegation, said the team will bring the city’s “Life is Here” brand to Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, and Yokohama from Oct. 16-20. The team is led by the Davao City Investment Promotion Center (DCIPC) and City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO). DCIPC Chief Lemuel G. Ortonio earlier said there are commitments from Osaka officials and businessmen to help promote Davao City to their residents. “We hope these will translate to actual visits and investments in Davao,” Mr. Ortonio said. Among the represented private companies are Damosa Land, Inc., Yovel Agri Enterprise and Yovel East Research and Development, Inc., Bloomers Travel and Tours and Bloomers Marketing, Eden Nature Park and Resort, Gasera Corp., Waterfront Insular Hotel, and Ana’s Breeders Farms. — Carmencita A.
