AS THE tropical depression, formerly typhoon Nando, that affected the northern and central parts of the country over the weekend dissipated, the trough of a low pressure area started affecting the eastern section of Mindanao in southern Philippines. The tropical depression was already out of the Philippine area as of Sunday morning. Weather bureau PAGASA said in its Sunday forecast that among the provinces that will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are: Surigao del Sur, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental. The rest of Mindanao is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. The LPA is expected to cross the Visayas by Wednesday and Thursday. In its weekly forecast, PAGASA said no tropical cyclone is expected to develop or enter the country this week.
