Swiss watchmaker Breitling introduced two new key models to the Philippine market in July—timepieces that vow to be lighter than ever.

Tagged by the brand as “The Spirit of Naval Aviation,” Avenger Bandit comes with a 45-mm titanium case, in a gray “stealth” look, and military rubber strap. Titanium, as one of the favorite metals in the field of aviation, is highlighted in the Bandit, having enhanced protective lateral reinforcements and satin-brushed finish that reduces the glinting. Its dial comes in gray with tone-on-tone counters with aviation-inspired stencil-type numerals,  and its strap is made of combined high-resistance rubber and military strap material for comfort and flexibility.

The Avenger Hurricane, on the other hand, is made from “Breitlight,” a scratch-resistant material lighter than titanium. The 50-mm Hurricane has a Manufacture Breitling movement—a self-winding chronograph with a 24-hour display as is customary in the military and among pilots. The chronometer is certified by the COSC, Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute.

The model comes in an all-black look with yellow accents, and aviation-inspired stencils. It is water resistant to 100 m/330 feet and has a rotating bezel with rider tabs to memorize the times.

Hurricane, as the brand claims, has a legible dial enhanced with luminescent hands and numerals, a thick glare-proof sapphire crystal, and controls (push-pieces and crown) fitted with a non-slip grip ensuring optimal handling even with gloves. At the Singapore launch, Avenger Bandit was priced at SG$7,000; the Avenger Hurricane, at SG$12,000. — CMA
