Carousell holds its first ‘Car-o-Sale’ in the country
ONLINE MARKETPLACE Carousell holds its first-ever used-car sale in the Philippines. “Car-o-Sale” aims to help jump-start businesses of its automotive sellers, many of which are longtime listers since the platform’s days as OLX. It envisions to provide potential car buyers with “a wide selection of quality used vehicles from its list of trusted sellers, paired with great deals.” With public transportation limited due to restrictions, Carousell reports a surge in online searches and inquiries due to a need to find alternative ways of commuting.
“Car-o-Sale” is expected to “make transactions convenient, ensures trustworthiness in dealings, and helps potential buyers connect to reliable auto dealers in the country.”
From Aug. 3 to 30, “Car-o-Sale” will feature more than 1,000 vehicle listings (including models such as Ford Ranger, Toyota Fortuner, Honda City, Toyota Hiace Grandia, Honda CR-V, and Toyota Alphard). Carousell’s biggest and trusted sellers such as All Cars, Car Empire, and Batman Motors will be participating — offering discounts as much as P150,000.
“Now more than ever, used cars can be of huge benefit for Filipinos as the need for a safe, convenient and affordable way to commute has been highlighted by the difficult mobility situation brought about by the COVID pandemic. In addition, many entrepreneurs who are in the used-car business need the support to restart their operations after the ECQ (enhanced community quarantine). Through our online classifieds platform, we hope to be able to provide them with an effective and cost-efficient way to reach out to the car-buying market and promote their respective offerings,” shared Carousell Philippines Head of Autos Karl Magsuci.
He reported a 64% increase in demand in the automotive category and said that many people are looking for affordable means of transportation for personal mobility. “Thus, it is a great deal to us to be able to give the Filipino people the platform for them to have easier access to a wide selection of vehicles and even better deals to choose from,” added Mr. Magsuci.
