Patriots Day

PATRIOTS DAY relives the events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing, the dramatic thriller chronicling in detail one of the most sophisticated and well-coordinated manhunts in law enforcement history. The story of Patriots Day is drawn from real-life accounts including those of the first responders, the law enforcement investigative team, and government officials that worked to track down the bombers in record time, and the actual survivors. The film, directed by Peter Berg (Deepwater Horizon, Lone Survivor), has an ensemble cast including Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, and Michelle Monaghan. The film is popular with the critics on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, which gave the film a high 79% “fresh” rating. Entertainment Weekly’s Joe McGovern writes: “Patriots Day benefits from a robust, concentrated timeline and sheer bat-out-of-hell pacing.” Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers opines: “Berg’s unquestioning faith in law and order could have used, well, a little questioning. But this is a raw, riveting, emotionally wrenching docudrama from Peter Berg and producer-star Mark Wahlberg.”
