AMERICAN real estate firm WeWork Companies, Inc. continues to expand its local presence with a plan to open two more co-working spaces in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in the next two months.

In a statement Wednesday, WeWork Philippines said it is scheduled to launch a hub at Menarco Tower in November and at Milestone at 5th Avenue in December. This will bring the number of WeWork locations in the country to four by yearend.

“Located in Manila’s metro city area, the expanded footprint in BGC allows the company to further support large enterprises by allowing them to scale further through WeWork’s global network while increasing talent attraction and retention,” the company said.

WeWork entered the Philippines last year when it opened its first hub in Uptown Bonifacio Tower Three in BGC. It launched its second Philippine hub in July, located at RCBC Plaza along Ayala Avenue in Makati City.

The new spaces to be opened this year will feature special purpose rooms such as a vlog room and a classroom, which WeWork said remains in line with the company’s thrust of promoting collaboration and productivity.

“Located in Manila’s metro city area, the expanded footprint in BGC allows the company to further support large enterprises by allowing them to scale further through WeWork’s global network while increasing talent attraction and retention,” it added.

WeWork aims to attract freelancers, start-up companies, local and multi-national companies and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which require a co-working space in place of an office.

In Southeast Asia, WeWork has locations in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. It has 528 physical locations in over 111 cities and 59 countries around the world. — Denise A. Valdez
