MEAT CONCEPTS Corp., the new owner of the Rico’s Lechon chain, is opening its flagship restaurant Friday, June 28, at Jamestown in Mandaue City. “It does not matter who owns Rico’s Lechon. What is important is that our lechon has the same delicious taste. I hope you can also enjoy our other dishes,” Meat Concepts. President and Chief Executive Officer George N. Pua said during the branch’s media launch earlier this week. The 500-square meter restaurant will have a seating capacity of 300, with four VIP rooms for meetings, gatherings and special functions. Mr. Pua said the interior design is a celebration of Cebu’s culture, from the chandelier to the Sinulog-inspired chairs and tables. Aside from the popular restaurant’s lechon (roasted whole pork) and regular menu, new dishes will also be launched such as laing, chicken binakol, and seafood sotanghon. Rico’s Lechon, which faced closure of its branches in Cebu City in 2017, has another branch in at the Mactan Promenade in Cebu province. It also has several outlets in Metro Manila, including Bonifacio Global City, Glorietta 1, Tiendesitas, UP Town Center, and SM Mall of Asia. Mr. Pua said they will also be reopening their outlet at Axis Entertainment Avenue, Escario in Cebu City soon. — The Freeman
