Almost 70,000 jobs on offer during Independence Day fair
THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment (DoLE) will be hosting its annual Independence Day job fair on June 12 in various sites nationwide, offering 68,893 vacancies. In a statement on Wednesday, DoLE said there will be 22 Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) job and business fairs in 16 regions. A total of 560 employers, consisting of 461 local and 99 overseas, will be participating. DoLE listed the following jobs as having the most number of vacancies: machine operators, production worker/factory workers, customer service representatives, call center agents, sewers, sales clerks, cashiers, delivery crew, service crew, and marketing officers. For overseas openings, DoLE said, “(T)he top vacancies are for cleaners, professional nurses (general), waiters/waitresses, service crew, company drivers, registered midwife, staff nurse, English teachers (Japan), janitress, barista, technicians (general), and nursing aides.” — Gillian M.
