THE BUREAU of Internal Revenue (BIR) yesterday filed criminal complaints against two companies in the Bicol Region for failing to pay tax liabilities with a combined total of more than P12.4 million. One of those charged was Andres R. Seva, sole proprietor of A. Seva Construction based in Pequeña, Naga City, for failing to pay his tax liability for 2007 amounting to P3.74 million, inclusive of increments. The other facing a case is Helen T. de Los Santos, also the sole owner of Saint Therese Commercial Construction and Supply in Virac, Catanduanes, for deficiencies in 2009-2010 with a total of P8.67 million, inclusive of increments. Records from the BIR-Legazpi City office show that the two respondents were served demand letters and other requisite documents, but failed to either pay or file a protest.
