THE 2017 Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK) came to a successful conclusion recently with a familiar face winding up on top.

Marvin Mangulabnan, riding for BMW Motorrad Racing Team, topped the PSBK for the second straight year after the final leg of the annual motorcycle event on Oct. 1 at the Clark International Speedway.

Trailed the leaders for much of the PSBK season, Bulacan native Mangulabnan banked on a solid ride in the final leg to eventually notch the highest points overall and pip his way to the title.

In last year’s edition of the PSBK, Mr. Mangulabnan also competed steadily en route to the win.

In a statement, BMW Motorrad Philippines said it is proud of the achievement of its rider Mangulabnan and that he is “well-deserved” to win a second straight PSBK title.

A little over two years as a team, the BMW Motorrad Racing Team is aiming to continue to stoke the enthusiasm for motorsports in the country and create further awareness for safe driving. — Michael Angelo S. Murillo
