THE EAST-WEST Seed Foundation (EWSF) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have teamed up to help underprivileged families under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) establish their own vegetable gardens.
The project is set to initially benefit 500 households in Antique, Capiz, Batangas, and Cavite. Under the project, families will learn about vegetable farming and urban garden techniques, as well as nutrition. “This partnership will provide EWS Foundation with the opportunity to fulfill its vision of food security and quality nutrition education for Filipino communities. It is our privilege to be a part of this advocacy and we are looking forward to a successful partnership,” EWSF Executive Director Crisanto R. Sabino said in a statement.
EWSF is also working with CARD-MRI Development Institute (CMDI) and Nestle Philippines to reach more communities and develop more vegetable gardens in public schools.
