Maine Mendoza tops most tweeted list for 3rd year
Local TV personality Nicomaine “Maine” Mendoza dominated Twitter conversations in 2019, topping the Most Tweeted accounts, Most Tweeted Celebrities, and Most Tweeted Hashtags on Twitter’s #ThisHappened list.
Ms. Mendoza, who first gained popularity as one half of the Eat Bulaga! variety show love team AlDub alongside Richard “Alden Richards” Faulkerson, currently has 5.8 million followers on the social networking site, an account she regularly updates with her schedules.
This year, she was cast as the lead actress of the film Isa Pa With Feelings alongside Carlo Aquino, a romantic melodrama directed by Prime Cruz.
Ms. Mendoza has topped the list since 2017.
She also rocked local headlines when it was revealed she was dating actor Arjo Atayde this year.
Following Ms. Mendoza are actresses Marydale “Maymay” Entrata and Kisses Delavin who topped the Most Tweeted Accounts and Celebrities lists. Ms. Mendoza’s former love team partner Alden Richards was at 4th of the same lists, while Ms. Entrata’s love team partner, Edward Barbers, was in 5th place.
This year’s Most Tweeted Hashtags were #MaineMendoza, MOR 101.9’s #DyisIsItManila song countdown show, and #MayWard, the love team name of Ms. Entrata and Mr. Barbers.
KPop groups BTS, EXO, and BLACKPINK, were at the top of the Most Tweeted About KPop Groups in the Philippines. The same groups also topped the Most Tweeted KPop hashtags. — ZBC
