The Goethe-Institute Philippines presents Club Berlin: Electronic Music and Photography, an event to engage both sight and sound, curated by Heiko Hoffman and Alfons Hug, featuring photographic works of Berlin’s 1990s club scene by Martin Eberle and portraits by Berghain club member Sven Marquardt. The exhibit will also feature rare footages from the Boiler Room, an underground platform. The exhibit opens on Aug. 26 and will be on view until Sept. 23 at Pineapple Lab in Rockwell, Makati City.

Nona Garcia’s Fall Leaves After Leaves Fall opens on Aug. 27 at Silverlens Gallery. Ms. Garcia will be the final artist to show in Silverlens’ first Pasong Tamo Extension gallery, before it moves in Lapanday Centre, also in Makati City. Exhibit runs until Sept. 17.

Pigura, a group show presented by the Filipino Portrait Artists’ Guild, Inc., will be on view until Sept. 8 at the Gateway Gallery at Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Cubao.

Mountain Top by Dansoy Coquilla is on view at the Gallery Indigo of BenCab Museum in Baguio until Oct. 9.

Makati Shangri-La Manila’s Lobby Lounge Luxe presents Lanelle Abueva-Fernando’s ceramic exhibition titled If I Could Paint, which runs until Aug. 30 at the hotel’s Mezzanine Level.

Kaida Contemporary Gallery has two ongoing exhibits: Metal Sin, a two-man show by Sam Penaso and Mischa, and Floater, a group show. Kaida Contemporary Gallery is located at 45 Scout Madrinan St., South Triangle, Quezon City.

Galeria Paloma opens Brief Histories, featuring paintings by Gino Tioseco, at Fig on Kalayaan Ave., Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City.

Newly opened Bellevue Fine Art Gallery presents a homecoming exhibit for Washington-based artist Ricky Montilla. Bellevue Fine Art Gallery is located at LRI Design Plaza, 210 Nicanor Garcia Bel-Air II, Makati City.

Tin-Aw Gallery presents 8 Questions, a group show featuring recent graduates from the UP College of Fine Arts’ Studio Arts program. It runs until Aug. 31.

Detour by Jonathan Ching and Elaine Roberto-Navas is on view at Blanc Gallery until Sept. 3.

The Vargas Museum in UP Diliman presents School of Sansó, the fifth of the seven retrospective exhibits in 2016 in honor of the life and works of Juvenal Sansó. The museum is also showing works by Jon Cuyson in Dancing the Shrimp (The Tactical Improvisation of Postcolonial Space Mix) until Sept. 15.

Vinyl on Vinyl has three ongoing exhibits: Brown Dada by Manuel Ocampo, Argie Bandoy, Bjorn Calleja, Jigger Cruz, Don Dalmacio, Neil Dela Cruz, Beejay Esber, Edric Go, Jayson Oliveria, Joel Quinones; Kamundo by Blic; and Pleated Reveries by Reynold dela Cruz.

Galeria Duemila presents They Speak To You By Association, an exhibit featuring artists Felix Bacolor, Mariano Ching, RM de Leon, Jonathan Olazo, Yasmin Sison, and Trek Valdizno. The exhibit runs until Aug. 29. Galeria Duemila is located at 201 Loring Street, 1300 Pasay City.

1335Mabini has two ongoing exhibits: Venture Capital by Poklong Anading, Carlos Celdran, Tad Ermitano, Miggy Inumerable, Martin Krenn, Manny Montelibano, and Mark Salvatus; and Human Nature by Mark Andy Garcia. Both run until Sept. 9.

Works of Japan’s leading contemporary printmaker are showcased in the exhibit titled The Diary of Tetsuya Noda: Steven Co Collection is on view at the Ayala Museum until Aug. 28.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines presents a solo exhibit of sculptures by Ryan Rubio titled Instinctual Creation which is ongoing until Sept. 11 at the Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo (small gallery).

Ana Verayo’s second solo exhibition titled Badlands is on view at Light and Space Contemporary, West Fairview, Quezon City until Oct. 1.

Raymundo “Ray” Albano’s career is the subject of A Time to Unlearn, at the Sphere section of the Metropolitan Museum of the Philippines’ permanent exhibit Philippine Contemporary Art: To Scale the Past and the Possible. The Met is located at the Bangko Sentral Compound, Roxas Blvd., Malate, Manila.

FILM

The National Museum of the Philippines holds a free screening of Ari: My Life With a King as part of the Buwan ng Wika celebration and its Visual Anthropology project on Aug. 25 to 28, 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Ayala Room, 2F, National Museum of Anthropology. There will be a talk after the morning screening featuring director Carlo Enciso Catu together with Kapampangan poets. Admission is free.

The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design’s monthly film showing presents Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner on Aug. 26 and 31.
