Barbers gives vote of confidence to police in drug war
SURIGAO DEL Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers, chair of the House committee on dangerous drugs, expressed confidence that the Philippine National Police (PNP) can better handle the relaunched “Oplan Tokhang” and anti-illegal drug operations now that more people are keeping watch and the guidelines are clear. Mr. Barbers, whose father was a police officer, added that the use of body cameras, which the PNP is currently in the process of procuring, should serve as a deterrent for alleged extrajudicial killings in drug-related operations. — Minde Nyl R. dela Cruz
