PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. inspected a hospital in Pasig City to monitor the expanded benefits of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
In a statement, The Medical City said the visit reviewed the implementation of the expanded PhilHealth coverage, including enhanced maternity care and outpatient emergency care packages that officials said are expected to benefit more low- and middle-income households.
“The visit reflects the shared commitment of the government, PhilHealth, and healthcare institutions to making quality healthcare more accessible and responsive to the needs of Filipinos,” the hospital said.
The visit also underscored the government’s effort to deepen cooperation with private healthcare institutions as demand for hospital services continues to grow and public facilities remain under strain. — Chloe Mari A. Hufana
