Contractor Curlee Discaya to undergo surgery

DETAINED flood control project contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II is tentatively scheduled to undergo medical surgery on Thursday, a Senate official said.
Senate Secretary Mark Llandro L. Mendoza on Tuesday said Mr. Discaya will be temporarily out of Senate detention but will be accompanied by the Senate Sergeant for his hospitalization.
“Tentative, this Thursday, he will undergo a medical procedure, but they’re still waiting for the clearance,” Mr. Mendoza told reporters. “After a week, he will come back to the Senate for recovery.”
Mr. Mendoza said that Mr. Discaya’s surgery would be for his right shoulder, assuring that a cross-checking of his condition has been conducted by the hospital and the Senate’s in-house hospital.
He refused to disclose the facility where Mr. Discaya would be taken for security reasons.
Mr. Discaya has been under the custody of the Senate after the Blue Ribbon Committee cited him in contempt for allegedly lying about the absence of his wife Cezarah Rowenah C. Discaya from a flood control hearing. — Kaela Patricia B. Gabriel
