12 still missing in Natonin landslide as retrieval operations enter day 6
SEARCH AND retrieval operations continued Monday, with 12 people still listed as missing in the landslide in Banawel, Natonin town last Oct. 30 following rains brought by typhoon Rosita (international name: Yutu). The Mountain Province Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office reported that as of Nov. 5, 16 bodies have been retrieved, with 14 already identified. A total of 26 were reported missing on Oct. 31. Mayor Mateo L. Chiyawan said the search operations will include nearby river systems as the fatalities may have been washed away by floods.
