AN INNOVATION fair on tourism, trade, and agriculture are among the main attractions for the 3rd Mimaropa Festival, happening this week, Nov. 20-25, in Odiongan, Romblon. Delegations from the five island provinces that make up the region — – Mindoro Occidental and Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan — will also be staging shows featuring their respective ethnic cultures, competing in a street dance showdown, participating in sporting events, and discussing investment opportunities in a forum. Tourism Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo, in a statement, said Romblon’s hosting of the annual event gives it an opportunity to showcase its attractions.“Region IV-B’s best-kept secret, Romblon, will be unraveled as a world-class tourist attraction like its neighboring provinces… Owing to its relative isolation, Romblon province has quietly preserved its lush mountainous greenery, hidden valleys, waterfalls, pristine waters, white-sand beaches, diving sites, Spanish-era relics, and many more,” Ms. Teo said.
