COFFEE PROCESSING will be among the main topics of discussion during the 10th National Coffee Summit to be held in Davao City today, Oct. 24, at the SMX Convention Center. The Philippine Coffee Board, Inc, (PCBI), the main organizer of the event, said most of the inquiries they have been receiving are about coffee production. The annual forum will also highlight the production of high-quality coffee, with international coffee experts like Samuel Gurel of Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) set to discuss what makes for a good cup. Mr. Gurel was the head judge in the first Kape Pilipino green coffee cupping competition held last year, and will be back for the second run in Feb. 2018. Last year’s two winners, besting about 80 entries, were both women-led groups from Bukidnon. — Mindanao Bureau
