Cebu BPOs to hire senior high graduates next year
THE INFORMATION technology-business process organization (IT-BPO) in Cebu province has started promoting potential careers in the industry among senior high school students after companies have expressed readiness to hire graduates in 2018. “Right now we are doing a career caravan in different senior high schools in Cebu, because lately the IT BPM (information technology-business process management) companies have confirmed that they are willing to hire senior high school graduates,” said Wilfredo “Jun” T. Sa-a, managing director of Cebu–IT Business Process Management Organization (IT-BPMO) following a meeting with Cebu’s provincial officials. In a statement, Governor Hilario P. Davide III expressed support to CIB.O’s initiative. Mr. Saa, also the executive director of the Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology, said they continue to partner and collaborate with the province to help in the development of human resources for the IT-BPMO sector. “Senior high graduates are already 18 years old and they are employable,” he said.
