Air Jordan 34 set for landing
LATER THIS month, the Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan 34 which it describes as introducing new innovations with the players of today and the future in mind.
The shoe has done away with non-essential material, ranging from the tolling to the upper, leaving the athletes with only what they need.
The Jordan 34 is touted to be one of the lightest basketball shoes ever made by the Jordan Brand — with the Size 9, for example, weighing in at 13.1 ounces.
Each colorway will have unique and discoverable marks while on the outsole is written “J4 – 34, 2.89-2019” to represent the 30th year from the Air Jordan 4 to the Air Jordan 34.
The Number 23, too, is featured in Morse code on the vamp of the shoe.
Central as well in the Jordan 34 is the introduction of the Jordan Eclipse Plate, a technology formed by two Pebax pieces and a forefoot Zoom Air unit which helps provide optimal explosion off the foot.
It is scheduled to land later this month with Jordan Brand ambassadors, including this year’s top National Basketball Association rookie pick Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans, set to rock it in the coming NBA season.
“The Air Jordan signature game shoes have become the most influential line of performance footwear in basketball history. By introducing new, proprietary innovation with the XXXIV, the line’s game-changing legacy is extended to a new generation of athletes,” said Gentry Humphrey, VP of Jordan Brand Footwear, of the latest edition of basketball legend Michael Jordan’s signature line of shoes in a press release.
“I want a shoe that is comfortable and stylish on and off the court. The XXXIV delivers on all of this and more,” the press release quoted Mr. Williamson — who was picked by the Pelicans first overall in the draft after a noted one year with Duke University where he was named consensus national college player of the year with all-around numbers of 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks for the Blue Devils — as saying.
The Air Jordan 34 will be officially released on Sept. 25 and will be available in the country starting Oct. 10 for P8,545 in select Nike stores and retailers. — Michael Angelo S. Murillo
