Migs Villanueva’s In the Meantime
PAINTER and poet Migs Villanueva marks her 60th birthday with her 12th solo exhibition, “In the Meantime,” at the Art Lounge Manila until July 6. Her exhibition is visually divided into three phases. Like a good story, there is a beginning, a middle, and an end, which is based on our collective wish to the story of this pandemic. “It was such a sudden change. So, I wanted to portray that visually, with a more basic palette, which gives way to more color and more detail, as we progress. I focused on children. How they coped, given that they have been indoors now for more than a year and a half. Children have a natural resilience because their imagination allows them to be anywhere they want to be, even if they’re just in the house. Sometimes, a change of perspective can do wonders to our well-being. And this is what we can all do, in the meantime” Ms. Villanueva said in a statement. “In the Meantime” is presented by Art Lounge Manila, at the ground floor of The Podium Mall in Ortigas Center.
