Napa de Oro launches wine in the Philippines
THIS year, Philippine global wine brand Napa de Oro launches its luxury line that includes Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Cabernet and its exclusive Caroline Red Blend — a hearty and spicy Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc — and the rare Au79 Estate Reserve whose name comes from the chemical element symbol and atomic number for gold. These wines are produced in the Coombsville region of the Napa Valley in California. Napa de Oro is a partnership between award-winning winemaker Rudy Zuidema, and a group of Davaoeño wine aficionados: Butchoy and Bing Taojo, Andreas Taojo, and US-based attorney Abe Marapao. Butchoy Taojo says their target market is not just the Philippine wine segment but also a global audience that is starting to appreciate wines that are suited to varied tastes. As such, Napa de Oro will be available in the US, along with an online store in the Philippines and through Bloom Café + Bar at the Greenbelt Mall.
