The Strikers came back from a 19-point deficit by the end of the first half, but patiently got their way back into the game with a variety of zone defenses, most notably its 1-3-1 zone that baffled the Voyagers.
“We switched to 1-3-1 and that got us back into the game,” said Bacoor head coach Budds Reyes. “I told the team that the only way we can get back into the game is by playing good defense. Once we did. Our offense followed.”
Gab Banal, back in action after missing his team’s game due to a previous engagement, finished with a double-double performance of 20 points and 11 rebounds. But Mikee Reyes also had his share of a double-double sharing.
