President Rodrigo R. Duterte signed on Wednesday, June 6, Proclamation No. 514 declaring June 15, Friday, a regular holiday nationwide in observance of the Eid’l Fitr or Feast of Ramadan, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher “Bong” T. Go said.
“Under Proclamation No. 514 signed today, 6 June 2018, the President declared Friday, 15 June 2018, a regular holiday throughout the country, in observance of Eidl’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadan),” Mr. Go said in a statement.
Malacañang has yet to release a copy of the proclamation.
Republic Act No. 9177 orders the “National Commission of Muslim Filipinos to supervise the declaration of Eid’l Fitr as a regular holiday and to promulgate the rules and regulations pursuant to its provisions.” — Arjay L. Balinbin
