BCDA to build P283-M Army facility in Fort Bonifacio

THE BASES and Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) is building a P283.4-million facility for the military at Fort Bonifacio as part of its relocation and replication program.
BCDA said in a statement on Monday that a five-storey building will be constructed for two units of the Philippine Army, with estimated completion date by December this year.
The structure will be equipped with a helipad, lower ground parking, and a bridge connecting to the Army headquarters. It will house the Special and Technical Staff of the Special Services Center (SSC) and Division Administrative Command Center (DACC).
BCDA previously announced that it is preparing to develop the 33.13-hectare Bonifacio South Pointe lot via a joint-venture agreement with SM Prime Holdings to generate funds for the modernization program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
“BCDA continues to support our troops by providing them with modern facilities and increased funding. In the process, like in the case of the replication and relocation of the SSC and DACC, we are also paving the way for business growth in Fort Bonifacio that would help spur economic recovery from the pandemic,” BDCA Chief Executive Officer Aristotle B. Batuhan said.
BCDA said its contribution to the military from May 1993 to Dec. 2020 stood at P49.19 billion.
Of the total, P38.07 billion was for the AFP Modernization Program and P11.12 billion was allotted for the replication of military facilities. — Revin Mikhael D. Ochave
